Lake Drawdown Ends

Another step has been completed on the Tainter gate mechanical rehab contract -  all new Tainter gate cables have been replaced.  With this project completed, the lake will be allowed to raise back to its conservation pool of 742 feet above sea level (ten feet higher than the drawdown level).

The cable drums for the tainter gate cables had to be removed and taken off site because the drum assemblies could not be dismantled on the dam.  Work completion corresponded conveniently with a record setting few days of extraordinarily warm weather that caused rapid melting of snow pack and river ice.

While the cable work is done, additional dam repairs are still planned.  Contractors will be back at Red Rock in April to work on additional tasks.
